Online Skills Mastery (OSM) Bootcamp
The Online Skills Mastery (OSM) Bootcamp course is an intense, 4-week course for faculty shifting from face-to-face instruction to online, asynchronous teaching. This course takes a deep dive into the theory and pedagogy associated with great online teaching and learning while developing skills and strategies for a personal digital teaching plan. Experience an online course from the perspective of a student, and simultaneously grow as an online instructor through a community of learning and shared resources. You will want to plan on 3-4 hours of course work per week, as well as anticipate regular interactions with your instructor and peers.
This course is based on a community of sharing and learning throughout each week, and is therefore not considered self-paced. Weekly interactions with the content and each other are necessary for you to receive the full benefit and experience.
Who should take OSM Bootcamp? OSM Bootcamp is intended for faculty impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and who are choosing to move to asynchronous, online instruction, rather than remote instruction for the Fall 2020 term. We realize it’s a steep learning curve to make this shift and want you to be as successful as possible in a short time period.
Note: This is a professional development, not-for-credit course. As a 4-week bootcamp, it does not meet grant requirements for the 8-week version of OSM: Fundamentals of Course Development & Delivery.
