Winter Web Camp Day 3 Schedule

Workshop 2: Supporting Olympic Hopefuls: Helping Students Keep Their Eye on the Prize
10:00AM- 11:45AM- Downtown- Lawrence Street Center, 1300D
Do you know what prize your students are chasing? In this workshop, we will work to craft a shared definition of student success from the student’s perspective, then use that definition to keep our Olympic hopefuls focused. Participants will engage in an exploration of student stories to consider “alternate” endings that align with student expectations, resulting in the thrill of victory instead of the agony of defeat. Session attendees will walk away with a comprehensive understanding of the entire student lifecycle, spanning Curiosity to Career, and will learn which questions we ask of students to uncover actionable feedback to keep students engaged in The Change Promise.

Lunch 11:45AM- 12:45PM

“Digital literacy” is a phrase that gets thrown around quite a bit in discussions about technology and pedagogy, but what does it really mean? This session will introduce some concepts and ideas around this topic and provide suggestions on including digital literacy outcomes into your course. It doesn’t have to be as difficult as landing a triple axel!
